Help advance the search for extraterrestrial intelligence
The search for extraterrestrial intelligence is an interdisciplinary effort. It depends not only on astronomy, but also on engineering, signal processing, software development, data analysis, communication and many other fields.
SETI Association welcomes proposals from scientists, engineers, developers, educators, communicators and other professionals who would like to contribute their knowledge or skills to our work.
How you could contribute
Depending on your background and availability, your contribution might include:
- participating in a scientific or technical project;
- advising on a specific research or engineering challenge;
- developing software, data-processing tools or technical infrastructure;
- contributing to instrumentation and observational systems;
- reviewing scientific or educational materials;
- helping communicate SETI research to a wider audience;
- proposing a new initiative relevant to the association’s mission;
- offering another form of professional support.
You do not need to have previous experience in SETI. What matters is relevant expertise, a serious approach and a clear idea of how you may be able to contribute.
Tell us about your proposal
Please introduce yourself, describe your area of expertise and explain how you would like to contribute. Specific proposals are especially helpful, but you may also contact us if you would first like to explore where your experience could be most useful.
We review submissions in relation to our current projects, priorities and available capacity. If we identify a potential match, a member of our team will contact you to discuss possible next steps.
